It's been a while (as usual) since my last post and a lot has happened. Some good , some not so.

But compared to what's going on in the world at the moment my 'stuff' is trivial!

So the good news is that I exhibited two panels of photographs at the recent RTPS Photographic exhibition held at the fantastic Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington.

Its worth a visit just to see the fantastic building. It's a 2 minute walk to the wonderful and historic Teddington Lock with two great pubs in between, what's not to like?!

Anyway, I digress. Talk of pubs make me do that. My two panels 'Metropolis' and 'Mortal Love' seem to have been well received by the critics. When I say critics, I meanfellow 'togs' who can be very critical!

The Metropolis panel will be familiar to regular visitors to my instagram page (and its on this website). This was shot in 2019 prior to the 'P' word hitting our shores early 2020. I was offered the chance to 'virtually' exhibit them in 2020, but after all the work that went into this project with my long time collaborators Tony and Annaliisa , prints tests and such like, I felt a selection of images from this body of work needed to be seen in print, not on an LED screen.

The second panel 'Mortal Love' again will be familiar to some of my insta followers. This was shot this year on location and in the studio. This project was my take on an1980's film titled 'Wings Of Desire' which was directed by Wim Wenders. The film centres on an angel 'Damiel' who is one of many angels who roam Berlin listening into the thoughts of the mortals going about their day to day activities. It's a multi layered film. But in short the angels can, if they so wish, choose to leave their internal existence and step through a wall to become a mortal and experience the human condition. But there's no going back. See, I told you its multi layered!

Surprisingly, this panel really hit the emotions of a couple of viewers who congratulated me on my work. For me that is the ultimate compliment. Not applauding for technical prowess /perfection but for the emotion they conveyed.

In fact a very well known name in the photography business and an editor of a main stream publication said ike wise. I had a recognisable style and feel. I said I'd take that! So thanks to Tony (again) and Kathrine for helping me with this project!

So the not so good news. Sadly 'Studio Mexico' the studio we had high hopes to make a business of this year is to close. Not through any fault of ours.

The studio actually sits on the site of an industrial unit which due to a number of reasons has been sold to a developer. As such we have to vacate the site in July. This is sad as those who have visited will attest, its a fantastic purpose built studio, the passion and vision of the late Peter Beardow (who owned all of the site) . I'd like to think we have done his memory proud with some of the creative work we've produced since. But times change and it just means a new challenge and change for us. As and when I have more news I will update this page.

However I do have something planned for the summer which I hope to share with you soon. It may involved beer, wine and cheese. And possibly a few pubs. So do come back if that's the sort of thing that flicks your camera shutters! Take care. And thanks for reading this far mum.
