It is said if you have to explain a picture, then it hasn’t done its job.
However, it is helpful to give a photo a title if you want the viewer to see it in the context of your intent.
I do this, but my preference is to put together a panel of photographs under one heading.
And so it is with my latest work.
Therefore a sequence of photographs in my latest work ‘Emotions So Blurred’ will be on show at the fantastic intimate and atmospheric Canela Cafe (details below) and hosted by the owner Julio.
Julio encouraged me to produce new work to show building on the success of the ‘Inner Landscapes’ exhibition held there two years ago (where has the time gone!).
This time the exhibition is a little different as it features the work of two other photographer friends of mine, Howard and Seamus.
Together we have titled it ‘Emotions, Light & Music’.
Howards exquisite use of light will be shown in his varied body of work along with Seamus’s love of music with his dramatic stage images from shoots at various festivals and shows. This isn’t easy photography given the ever-changing lighting effects on stage!
If you’d like to come along to the private viewing night on Thursday 17th October (starts at 6.30pm) please contact me via the contact page as numbers are limited.
The cafe is located directly opposite Hampton Court Train Station.
Simply use the crossing outside the station where a glass of wine will be waiting for you as you trip over the doorstep.
Oh and some photographs too.
The exhibition runs for one month.
The cafe opens Wednesday to Sunday.
Canela Cafe, 2 Creek Rd, East Molesey, KT8 9BE.
Hope to see you there!
